I have an old T-23 running xp pro. A gig of ram and a 1.4mhz processor. It
works great for anything but web surfing. I tried loading several flavors
of linux, but with only a gig of ram and a slow processor I just couldn't
get firefox to be anywhere near usable - there's just too much bloat in
what is being fed to browsers these days. Chrome flat out refused to
install because the hardware didn't have enough horsepower.

The only thing I can use it for is travels where I need to be able to vpn
and rdp to my desktop. Other than that I have no use for it but I hate to
get rid of it since it's an elegant piece of hardware.

I don't know what specs an RSeries has, so best of luck. )And if you want a
flavor of Linux, start with Ubuntu, but the browsers are slow in linux too.)
