I rather like them. This is the PC-Tech list and hearing about a new gadget, or one that's on sale is appropriate. If you can keep up with the traffic on Midrange-L, RPG-L, etc. then an occasional "deal of the day" shouldn't impair your productivity more than a fly on the windshield affects your gas mileage.
