What are the gotchas with power line adapters?
I'm assuming there are some, because otherwise it seems like they would

There is little downside other than speed. In a home setup there
is little risk of data security. I have been using them for a couple
of years now with little or no issues. Hard wired is "always" going
to be better but in older homes, that might not be very practical.
My home only can get 6.5mb on really bad DSL line but the
Powerline works quite well moving the connection to other parts
of my home.
Powerline is plug and play with nothing to deal with.
I think it's more suitable for the home environment.
