What are your experiences with using an internet fax service versus your
own internal fax software? We want something to integrate with our email
software (Lotus Notes/Domino). The way we envision this is our users
could email to something like 2605551212@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and the email
would be faxed to 2605551212. Many attachments would also be rendered and
made part of the fax. And then if someone sent a fax to one of our
inbound numbers, for example 2601234567 it would automatically be matched
against a table that says 2601234567 goes to sally@xxxxxxxxxxxx and
2602345678 goes to joe@xxxxxxxxxxxx and so on.
One would think that purchasing your own would be a one shot expense but
we're not the kind of company to not pay our maintenance. And we're
finding out that maintenance is often 20% of list.
