No, we've used Symantec Endpoint Protection since last June. What was
bizarre is that Firefox wasn't listed in the Add/Remove programs dialog.

Jeff,
I have seen similar things with anti-virus shutting down an application.
I plugged into a clients network and their anti-virus took a dislike to
some
of the network tools I had on my laptop.
Even stripped them out of a USB drive I used on a different occasion.
Have you had a change or update to your system security?

Subject: [PCTECH] Windows program disappeared

All,

Had a bizarre one.

W2003 Server, virtual, in a terminal services environment. Overnight
Firefox disappeared. Users shortcuts quit working, firefox.exe does not
exist on that server, and Firefox does not show up in add/remove programs.
It's as if someone uninstalled it.

I reinstalled and everyone's settings are intact. Homepage, bookmarks,
etc. Windows event viewers don't show anything.

Anyone seen anything like this? Is there someplace it's logged if a
program
is uninstalled?

Thanks.
