As long as there's no issue, yes. Otherwise, i'd suggest you to get
someones help. I'm sure the PC guys at your workplace are willing to
helpful in exchange for Pizza or Donuts ;)

What's the ie.cfg file, and what does it's removal do?

ei.cfg contains Express Install information. If you remove it, you can
specify which version of Windows to install.
