According to him, in an Exchange environment, there are no
.pst files. The data is in the Exchange database

Correct. Any Exchange admin will tell you that PSTs are the root of all
evil! If you're running exchange there are numerous reasons from
data-loss to backup to e-discovery that you don't want any PSTs in the
enterprise.
