I would have mentioned a wiping program but David had said the drives were
in various states of operation. To me, that indicated the drive might not
be usable in a normal machine but might still be able to be scanned with
special or dedicated equipment.

To be sure, if the drive can be brought online, a DOD wipe should be
adequate.

Interesting that no one mentioned a wiping program. Wiping is usually
the response for an iSeries drive, but not here?
