I did find this at Dell. It costs a little more but I have more
confidence that it would work.

They're just reselling that. And it doesn't support 1080p.

According to the product overview it does:
"supporting resolutions of up to 1080p for HD Input, and 1600x1200 for PC
input."

I got the idea that they are reselling it. It's more expensive on the
StarTech.com although Dell is out of stock. I was mostly trying to say
that something along those lines is what I probably need to get. At any
rate, it looks like I'm going to need either a VGA to DVI converter box
similar to this or a docking station with DVI output along with a DVI to
HDMI cable. Just hooking some cables and adapters together just isn't
going to cut it. I wonder if the docking station puts the audio into the
DVI plug or if it's just video.
