Using Outlook for email and synching the Outlook and Google calendars
Other than Outlook, replacing all of MS Office with OpenOffice.

I'm currently using Google Apps Premier for my private mail & domain.
I would never consider using it for business purposes, as Gmail (as
part of Google Apps Premier) is far too unreliable for that. The
functionality is very nice though, and it offers a lot of features for
private mail accounts. I always get credit for a few days of downtime,
but it doesn't amount to anything, and it doesn't change the fact that
you couldn't access your mail for a few hours.

Oh, and it's impossible to tell if Gmail has "lost" Mail, unless it's
very recent. Postini (hosted compliance solution, a part of Google
Apps Premier) may help you with that, but it's get expensive quickly
(which is why i'm not using it).

One big No though: Outlook's IMAP Support is horrible. In fact, don't
use Outlook for anything else except with an Exchange server. Gmail's
IMAP Support is also horrible. Much more downtime than the Web
Interface, spurious connection errors, sometimes awkward handling of
everything. I've tested this with Mozilla Thunderbird and Apple Mail,
both don't work well with Gmail's IMAP Support.

Groupware functionality of Google Apps Premier is _extremely_ lacking,
compared to our Exchange 2007 deployment, but it is certainly enough
for private/family purposes. If the features are enough for your
company - good for you.

Also, the amount of mail aliases you can use with Google Apps is
extremely limited - i previously a variety of @projectdream.org for
spam purposes - which i can't do anymore, because i can only add 10 or
15 aliases - no wild cards allowed.

I've been using Google Apps Premier since November 2007.
