Here's the thing that discourages me about shopping for video cards. I see
that Tom's Hardware has a "Best Graphics Cards for the Money" (July '08),
and in the under $100 category, they recommend the *GeForce 8600 GTS*.
Google that, and it's clear that this is the chipset, not the card itself.
There are dozens of cards that use this chipset, and they appear to range in
price from $60 to over $300!

So, should I care only about the chipset, and just go with a card
manufacturer that I've heard of?
