My company converted from GroupWise to Exchange about 2 years ago. I
recommended a hosted service but the owners were not comfortable with
putting our info on someone else's systems. In retrospect, I did not
push hard enough.

The advantages are real, and the disadvantages are largely soft.
Picking the vendor is obviously critical!

They even provide a copy of Outlook 2007 if you don't have it. Not quite
sure how they do that with licensing.
