Since you're not really using it as a router, do not use the
"internet"
port.

Agreed, although annoyingly enough, it won't take NTP info off an
internal port, only the internet port, so if you want the time to be
correct on the device (like when you're sending syslog packets from it)
you need to connect the internet port to a live connection.
