Be gentle with me.. The last time I was in a chat room might have
been ten years ago and I used console mode irc to do it. With David's
recent announcement that there was a chat on the Midrange dot com
server, I thought I'd try it. I'll be darned if I can figure out how
to configure Pidgin to do it though.

I've tried a user of kc2hiz and midrangedotcom but when asked for a
password, I'm of course unauthorised.

I've been to http://www.midrange.com/chat.htm and my Firefox didn't
understand he XMPP URI. I added a Windows registry entry to point to
Pidgin but that doesn't help when clicking on the link. I've also
added an XMPP handler in about:config to no avail. So I can't get
going just by clicking either.

What am I missing? Pidgin 2.2.2, Windows XP Pro SP2 behind a DSL NAT
router. I'm using Pidgin to talk to Google Talk (xmpp), Yahoo IM and
the conference server at jabber.org (xmpp) so I believe my networking
is OK.
