I thought I'd eliminated that as a possibility Scott.

A) I cannot FTP to System A.

B) I can FTP to System B with no problem - so apparently no firewall issue on the the PC side.

C) When I connect via a 5250 session to System B I can then FTP from it to System A with no problem. Those systems are in completely different locations.

Any individual firewall could probably do it. And any two different firewalls could be more likely to do it.

At least one question would concern whether or not both _routes_ follow the same paths through the (inter)network.

Run traceroute from both System A and B to the target (or vice versa) and verify that each intervening hop reports the same. If nothing else, it'll help illuminate the issue. I'd expect to see a difference in the chain of devices. And if no difference shows up, that will also be an important clue.
