This is my home machine and is for testing changes to the website for the community band I'm in. I'm running Win2K Pro (not server) on it - SP4. As far as I know, the code is pretty vanilla ASP - not .Net - I inherited this, and it's been around awhile.

I get error ID 36 in the system event log - am at work now so can't tell exactly - have seen several things on the 'net about that error - not much in the web server log - I'll look again in the next couple days. I did set the default web server to allow scripts - even opened up executables and write and everything at one time.

I'll check the privileges - thanks for that idea.

Vern,

ASP or ASP.Net? If the former, you don't need the .Net framework at all.
Also, W2K not W2K3? And are you running your System i on V4R2?
Seriously, you should be running W2K3. And for development, why use
server at all, just use XP. As for the error, what's in the event log?
And what's in the web-server log? Either (both) might give you an idea
of the problem. And did you enable scripts for the web site. HTM will
serve just fine if you didn't, but IIS won't run ASP unless you tell it
it can. Finally, does the ASP user have the needed permissions to the
directory? IIRC, ASP runs as IWAM_ on W2K, but it's been a
while.
