Do you still have the broken keyboard? If so, are there any model numbers
or other identifying marks? Once I needed to find drivers for a generic
laptop. There was some number on the bottom that I was able to Google and
eventually determine the OEM. If not, do you have any idea where the
original one came from? Did your wife buy it herself or was it supplied
by her employer? You might be able to backtrack that way.
You may also consider searching for 3rd-party software that will let you
remap any keyboard. Here's one that I found with a quick Google search
for "keyboard remap open source":
