I fail to see the significance of Google Maps WRT this attack. It is merely being used to help locate an individual using the PC's IP address. There have been tools for that since the 'net was born. I'd add that unless the PC/user's ISP is doing something odd you could only really get a localization and not an exact address. This is a social engineering attack. It requires a using to open, read, and believe a phish. It requires an email client that allows embedded links to be followed. It also needs an insecure browser that will auto-install the Trojan. It additionally requires a PC insecure enough that outbound traffic (from the Trojan/keylogger) is not blocked. Finally, the Trojan must stay undetected by anti-malware scanning. Only after all of those failures does data get back to the attacker who is using Google Maps instead of another tool to help isolate a user. Sensationalism at its best.
