Hmmm - looks like I need to get them mounted that way. I did see the passive
NTFS option (?).

You can write to NTFS with Knoppix. You just have to mount it as a
read/write volume. By default it mounts as read-only. The writing I think is
still technically considered expiremental. But many still use it without
problems.
