Lots of things can cause profiles to get corrupted. Check your event logs to
see if anything shows up there.

Any new viruses that corrupt the user profiles?

Last night I shut down my laptop. It said it had new updates to
install, so I let it do that.

This morning when I turned it said my profiles were corrupted
and gave
me a default profile which means all my settings are gone.

Any ideas of what happened, or what will fix it?
