Any new viruses that corrupt the user profiles?

Last night I shut down my laptop. It said it had new updates toinstall, so I let it do that.

This morning when I turned it said my profiles were corrupted and gaveme a default profile which means all my settings are gone.


Any ideas of what happened, or what will fix it?
