fuzzy memory... but I implemented a Word merge project in a small office on 8 pc's. Six worked fine, and 2 had similar problems to yours, although I don't remember exact msgs. In one case, after trying a multitude of things, the network guy uninstalled CA, removed and reinstalled the MS DSN stuff, then reinstalled CA and svc pack - it worked. He had found a MS Tech tip about downlevel MS odbc stuff having problems (nothing mentioned ClientAccess), but I "think" there is something to: what is loaded on the pc at the time
CA installed that matters. Has been running fine since. The other pc had parts of 2 versions of CA in the registry (and tn5250 worked fine, but not odbc) and worked after uninstall, clean registry, reinstall CA, svc pack.

Our iSeries is at V5R2M0. My iSeries Access is V5R2M0 SI04484.I trying to mail merge from an iSeries DB file into a Word document. I havetried User, File, and System DSNs with the same results.Steve, I've also had problems with Word and Mail Merge accessing data via the Client Access ODBC driver. IIRC, I could get the original creation to work fine, but any attempt to retry resulted in errors. I finally resorted to using MS/Query inside of Excel and then merge the spreadsheet data into Word and it has worked fine since. I'm on V5R2 as well, but I'm using Word 97; so it's somewhat safe to say a driver problem. I don't do enough of the mail merge to research a solution any further.
