Is there any way I can be sure that no one will be able to sniff, hack or otherwise compromise my pc, if I enter the neighborhood Panera which offers free wi-fi access, and I connect to their wi-fi signal? My wireless adapter for use at home is configured to use 128 bit WEP (and I know my home config would be useless at Panera). Without authorization from the cafe, is there a way to enforce the WEP/WAP? What do folks on the road do, who encounter this dilema?
