Steve,

I use NotePad2, which is totally free, and can be found at
http://www.flos-freeware.ch

It has a row-column indicator, as well as highlighting for several text
types (SQL, HTML, Java, etc).

[PCTECH] Text Editor

Our Payroll department creates fixed length files on our IFS. On
occasion,
they will need to make a change in a certain column of a certain record.
Since they have no green screen access (P/R software is GUI), they cannot
use WRKLNK, EDTF, etc. on the iSeries and Wordpad/Notepad does not have a
column indicator that they can use to determine the column that the cursor
is in. Can anyone recommend a PC Text Editor which has a column indicator
(preferably freeware)?

Thanks,
Steve
