OK, it might be badly phrased. :) What do you mean?

In general web services are consumed (called) by functions on a web
server. That is, in a servelet (or jsp, asp, php, etc.) webSERVER1 would
call a web service hosted on webSERVER2 and then use that data to send
something back to webCLIENT1.

If this is what you mean, just send the name of the page you're
processing.

OR...

Are you talking about something like Ajax where the browser is actually
consuming a web service? And if so, are you saying your web service
needs to know whether it's being consumed by a browser that's looking at
Page1 or a browser that's looking at Page2. If this is what you mean,
you could simply send the page name as a parm on the request. HOWEVER,
if you're doing it to provide different functionality to page1 and
page2, fine[1]. But if you're doing it to make sure that the service is
only consumed by pages you serve, and not by pages someone else serves,
no such luck. It's just too easy to spoof.

[1] Well, not fine, those should be 2 different pages, but it's "fine"
from a security point of view.

This is probably badly phrased, but...

Is there a way that I can tell what URL a web service thinks I am coming
from from on my PC? I'm trying to interface with a web service and it
appears to me that it thinks the request is coming from something like
www.me.com (example) when in fact it should be coming from www.them.com
(example).

Is there some way I can see what URL my TCP/IP connection request
appears as on the web?

Something like TRACERT or NETSTAT or an equivalent?

Thanks
