> Are you KIDDING ? :-) Break into one of those boxes ? I am in Central > Indiana/Indianapolis and just about everywhere I go I see this boxes with > no > covers on them anymore; And in my neck of the woods, even those with covers are never locked. They lift right off -- I usually chat with the repairmen while they work on my stuff and there is nothing to this. It would be pretty trivial to go to one of those boxes at night at tap onto any pair you wanted. And in terms of deciding which is which, just use a voltmeter to make sure the line is not in use, put a buttset on a pair, and call your cell phone to find out the phone number. Easier then keeping up with what is the current numbers for repeating ANI data. Of course, if you hang your own tap off one of these and it is still present (and obvious) the next time a telco guy is in the box, that could raise some eyebrows. Probably even easier to just put something inside the demarc box on the outside of the house -- that way work on neighboring homes won't discover something in the street box. Very few people put a lock on the demarc. Doug
