Jeff

So you copy the entire image of each server to the external drives? Or
just user directories/inboxes?

I was using Travan 10/20 cartridges, Seagate internal drives, and Backup
Exec to back up a couple of servers. One of the Seagates died.

I replaced _both_ internals with an external USB attached 80gb disk
drive,
less than $100. Now backup both servers to that external drive in
separate
Backup-to-Disk folders. Don't use tapes for those servers at all
anymore.

Worked so well we bought a 2nd one and alternate weeks. Faster than
tape
and less cost. And one is always in the safe.
