The system is a Redhat 7.3 with Apache 1.3.27 (yeah, I know it's old ... but it works {mostly}).
Which Apache 1.3.27? If it's less than 1.3.27-8 you can download 1.3.27-8 fromhttp://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/7.3/updates/i386/ and install it and see if that fixes the problem.
