So true John; isn't that amazing ? And I think it stinks that any software firewall vendor would force you to uninstall and then install new. At LEAST they could do is save the rules that you have created. Lots of times those can be pretty intense and took time to gather up. JMHO :-) Chuck -----Original Message----- From: pctech-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctech-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jones, John (US) Sent: Friday, September 09, 2005 10:37 AM To: PC Technical Discussion for iSeries Users Subject: RE: [PCTECH] Remote Desktop and VPN issues Argh, stupid keyboard. Or maybe it was a PICNIC error (problem in chair, not in computer). Anyway, as I was typing... AV and Anti-Spyware are different, though, since the engines and databases for detection need constant updating to keep up with newly discovered vulnerabilities. And as such you're very tied to how well a vendor maintains their products over time. Symantec seems to have gone for bloatware that's less effective. McAfee Enterprise is alright, but just so. Funny how the best products are from smaller companies that don't necessarily focus on enterprise sales. John
