You don't write an iso image to CD in the same way as you do a regular file. You could, but it would not work as you want it to. An iso image is a bytewise copy of the actual CD. Burning software like Roxio or Nero can write these bytes to a CD.

This kind of image is what is used by the virtual CD, image catalog technology on V5R2 and up. You could not easily (if at all) run a Knoppix image on an iSeries, but you could see its contents through a virtual optical device.

Are you saying you don't actually burn this file onto a CD?
