You would have to rip the DVD that you just made. Sure, you shouldn't loose any quality but burning DVD's is a slow process even on a fast PC with a hot rod DVD-R drive. Not only do you have the burn time but you also have the encoding time. Ripping takes time too. It seems more straightforward to me to go from A to B to C instead of A to D back to B and then to C. Still, despite the time it takes to physically produce the disc I've found that you spend tons more time viewing and re-viewing the tapes and deciding what you want, where it is on the tape...
