This is a good solution if you are just doing a straight copying. I can also relate to wanting to keep other family members away from your PC. If you want to do any editing though you're probably out of luck. I hadn't considered a DVD recorder option. I wanted to make DVD copies of my son's football tapes to send to coaches and to share with his grandparents. I got so fed up that I finally went to a camera shop that offered the service and paid them about $100 to make one master DVD from about 15 game tapes. Now that the prices have come down, why not just go to Circuit City and buy a combo VHS/DVD recorder? It'll have jacks in the fron for hooking up your camera. That's what I'm going to do once we get unpacked from our move last weekend. With a big family room in the new house, my wife has finally given me the green light to get some new toys.... :-)) Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx <Rick.Chevalier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: pctech-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 11/03/2004 01:51 PM Please respond to PC Technical Discussion for iSeries Users To: <pctech@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc: Subject: [PCTECH] Video capture recommendations I'm looking at adding video capture to my PC. Primarily for converting old VHS tapes to DVD but also as a means to store current video from a digital camcorder to DVD. I looked at the Dazzle products but most of the reviews I read weren't very good. I don't know if the products are really that bad or if it's just a few disgruntled user making a lot of noise. If anyone has any experience with video capture I'd like to hear you recommendations on how to get started.
