Thanks everyone. Sounds like I got my answer :-) I asked him if he
remembered seeing any paper work/card/etc. noting that it was a trial that
would expire in 6 months but he said he did not remember anything. Of course
all the stuff they stick in there from everyone and their brother, I'm not
surprised. But if it was a sticker on the CD case, that must have been
overlooked.

I'll let him know, thanks !

Subject: [PCTECH] Microsoft Office & XP Home

Hi Folks,

I had a user come to me (one of our Sales folks) and tell me an interesting
story.

He bought a Compaq/HP computer 6 months ago and it came with Windows XP Home
and MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.) and he had been using
them up until a few weeks ago when he started getting a box/boxes popping up
telling him he needed to register and giving him a price...

Any of you aware of anything like this ?

Thanks !

Chuck
