Nope. I created a new presentation and included the image (just to test).
There is no error messages or such. The picture goes black and the audio
plays fine.

Does the slideshow image refer to a location/link that is not valid on
laptop 2? (In my experience I usually find a reference to a *.ink location
)

Aghhhh!

On laptop 1, I have included a video in a powerpoint presentation and it
play perfectly in a slide show.

I copy the presentation to laptop 2.

When I run the slideshow, the audio plays but the video is just black.
(there is a "still" of the video showing before I play it).

Any suggestions?

TIA
