...a Sony Ericsson T610 with T-Mobile's Unlimited Internet plan for 
$20/month... truly unlimited, doesn't use minutes. The T610 (as do some 
Nokia's like the 3650) has bluetooth so you can do this with no wires if 
you've a Bluetooth USB dongle for the laptop. It's not broadband, but it 
hasn't seemed any worse than dialup (though it's been years since I've 
been on dialup <g>).
