"their" firewall could block ping so don't assume they are not on.
your Linksys should be able to block that ip.
if you are running wireless - you should be encrypted, even at home
make sure you are password protected on your Linksys and not the default
instructions all over the net to get yourself free internet for the price of
a wireless card
also would not run dsl without good firewall controls
