I have used Norton Ghost (part of Norton Systemworks) for this sort of thing. With Ghost you make a bootable diskette
and can then copy HD --> HD or HD --> CD or CD --> HD, etc. We bought 6 identical laptops at one time. I set one of them up with everything (XP, Office, Client Access, Netscape, network settings, custom software, Norton, email, Adobe, on and on and on) and then Ghosted the other 5. The first laptop took me all day. The other 5 took 30-40 minutes apiece. Quite a time saver.
There are other solutions beside Ghost as well.
