I have just had my hard disk go on my Thinkpad T30 whilst on holiday.
IBM France sent me a new drive and, to save time whilst they found me an
English language version of XP Pro, I purchased a French copy and loaded
it. I then downloaded Netscape 7.1 and restored the back up CD
containing my e-mails, etc. that, fortunately, I had brought with me.
I cannot access my old address book through Netscape nor can I find the
one that is now available to me outside Netscape. I have copied my old
.nab file to what I believe to be the correct place but Netscape ignores
it. I have added a record to the new address book and searched for
files/folders changed with the same date/time but cannot see anything
that has changed. I even tried creating a second Netscape email account
but that gives me access to the same address book as the first account.
There is an import facility for addresses but this only works for
earlier versions of Netscape
Has anyone any idea how to solve this problem or where I might find the
answer?
P.S. I use Netscape because it is not a Microsoft product.
