I understand the rationale.  I just hope they get better about what triggers it,
and especially what triggers it when no grace period is given and web activation
is not available.  Web activation only worked for me the very first time.  After
that I've had to call.  The phone process has gotten better too, and now is
handled without a human operator in some cases.

Mine did require a warm body, but fortunately was available even though it was a
weekend.
