Couple of thoughts:

-I would suggest installing all the Python 3 packages. Should be safe to do so.

-As Kevin said, I would make sure /QOpenSys/pkgs/bin is in your search path and then run: python3 --version You should see something in the 3.6 ish range. I have 3.6.12.

-Possibly install the 5733OPS version of Python if not in use. GO LICPGM.

-You don't need to create a special VENV (Virtual Environment) initially.

-Follow the rest of my instructions and see what happens.

-As a side-note if you're more comfy, you can install MKDocs initially on Windows or Linux to test as well before putting on IBMi.

MKDocs is a great static site generator. I am still liking it after a few weeks with it.

Sounds like you have found the 5733-OPS version. It's likely you need to
set your PATH. See

Thank you, Quintin!? I can now indeed report that my python3 version is
3.4.10!

That's step one.? Now I have to figure out what Jack is talking about.
