The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
As I read the OP and the IBM link, the QSH would be:
QSH CMD('/QOpenSys/usr/bin/sh -c "/home/RROGERSON/node/vlegacireactjs/start.sh"')

Unless you actually say what a "real shell" is or provide a link for further reading, that comment is just snark.
As far as I'm concerned, you can only get a "real shell" if you use SSH to log in. If you're not using SSH, then personally, I would just stick with Qshell.
For batch, see:
How to Call PASE Commands/Scripts from a Command Line, CL Program, or
in a Submitted Job

I don't know if you read the information you linked to. It says to use Qshell for batch. Which is precisely what OP did.
