Just to mention again. The problem was that I was calling the serve
command incorrectly. I needed to qualify the command with the path as in
/QOpenSys/pkgs/lib/nodejs10/bin/serve

As far as I'm concerned, you can only get a "real shell" if you use
SSH to log in. If you're not using SSH, then personally, I would just

I don't know if you read the information you linked to. It says to use
Qshell for batch. Which is precisely what OP did.
