I installed gcc via ACS Open Source Package Management (thanks Mark)

Jesse - thanks for taking the time to have a look at this.

I was just about to try installing bpython into the venv again - it's a
throwaway venv so I'll probably do it just to confirm Jesse's findings.

I'm not married to the idea of using bpython on the IBMi, I just thought it
might be a bit nicer for the kind of ad-hoc stuff you sometimes investigate
using the REPL.

Anyway, I've learned a few more things and as usual I'm grateful for the
folks who find time to comment.

$ cd /QOpenSys

$ git clone <git@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>git@xxxxxxxxxxxxx:litmis/ibmichroot.git
$ cd ibmichroot
$ ./pkg_setup.sh pkg_perzl_gcc-4.8.3.lst

Does this seem a reasonable thing to do?
