You used to have to compile Python yourself!
That someone else did it for you and put it in a package is like having an
automatic transmission vs. a stick shift (the latter sometimes called a
"milennial anti-theft device" :)

using Aaron's criteria for selection of PASE scripting languages. It
may or may not also then fall below Ruby, PHP, and Node.js (all of
which have already been compiled for you, but you have to jump through
other hoops to get them installed).

If Rexx really "fits your brain" much better than other languages, it
may be worth the extra hassle of getting it installed. But I'll bet
most people who know neither language, but do know SOME programming
language, would find Python more intuitive than Rexx anyway.
