Hi,

In 2012 I was in Vienna presenting at the COMMON Europe Congress about Upgrading GCC in PASE.
The presentation is still available on line on SlideShare at http://www.slideshare.net/comeur/vienna2-13592498
Old stuff, but many concepts may still hold true.

Also note the new GCC builds (GCC 6.2 was released the 22nd of August 2016 !) from Bull: see http://www.bullfreeware.com/search.php?package=gcc (a “second source" policy could be a good idea.)

Dr. Michael Perzl’s presentation (October 2013, see http://www.idh.ch/IBM_TU_2013/opensource%20on%20AIX.pdf ), offers an interesting historical view of the Open Source topic for AIX.
