Good to know. I just now signed up for a digg.com account to see how the
gmane rss feed works in there. Learn something new every day.

Did I mention I miss the Google Dashboard home page they EOL'd a number of
years ago? Man, that was so slick for aggregation. Still haven't found a
replacement.

Just curious, what does gmane offer that archive.midrange.com doesn't?
Or
maybe a better question, why do people like it? I am intrigued because of

As David said, gmane offers NNTP access, so we can use a newsreader to
follow the list (I use Thunderbird). I haven't seen any web forum interface
or email mechanism that's as convenient as a newsreader for following a
forum or mailing list.

Using a newsreader is more a replacement for getting posts through email
than a replacement for the archive. I guess following the mailing list
solely through the archive can work, using the date index and thread
indexes, but when I had to do that recently due to gmane being down, it
felt quite awkward.

Thanks David!
