There are several issues:
1) Chat, email , or forum for conversations. It is all way too fragmented
and it's getting worse with now stuff found at LinkedIn and Ryver. What
next? The pluses or email have been mentioned: Indexing and permanence of
email vs the ephemeral nature of "chats". Others?
2) Code repositories. Basically choose here. I am a fan of Git and
BitBucket but short of just downloading code when you need an update, the
mechanism of push/pull and the "dailies" of Git project management is
foreign to some.
3)Wiki's and documentation. The YiPS site is good but needs updating
(literally working on that right now). We need a permanent place.
LOVE the idea of an IBM i OSS dashboard. Hate to mention it because
someone may run out and we'll end up with three! I was just thinking along
those lines. Might be a good conversation to be had there....

Which characterization should we debate first?
