The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
I despair at the magnitude of the task of editing wikis manually.
...
A "diligent" and even well-written bot runs the risk of overkill. If I
understood the referenced web page properly, for one thing, it was one
place within one limited context, and still generated more than 6 or 7
thousand pages.
Both the general wiki and the mdrange wiki are open for whomever works
them. So I think the best approach is that folks post to whichever they
are inclined to consider the best place.
However, I almost always skip the wikipedia pages that come up in searches.
"Neutral point of view" is an impossibility, most especially in topics
where it makes any difference.
In other words, in matters upon which everybody agrees, a "neutral point
of view" is irrelevant.
In matters where all points of view or incompatible, the description of
any one of them will be twisted by the point of view of the writer's
conceptions of the individuals involved.
And where there is a real difference, the "consensus" point of view of
the managing editors wins.
In ANY case of differences of opinion or perspective, I think EVERY
point of view should have its own wiki if anything. Like on the
midrange.com wiki, we don't have to play kissy with inferior OS's.
