I haven't quite made up my mind on the "amazing philanthropy" aspect yet.

If I was worth $50B, I might not be concerned about turning $10B or more over to charity. When you get into the [fabulously wealthy for the rest of your life and probably at least for the rest of all your grandchildren's lives] range, it doesn't have much of an effect on your lifestyle to give away 20% or more of your monetary assets.

But if you're only worth $50K, then it's a big deal to give away 20%.

How rough is life when you "only" have $30B left over? It still feels like a kind of 'marketing' to me.
