We could write to IBM's Executive and Marketing teams if we had their
addresses. Let's get their names, addresses, and contact them. An
occasional coordinated mailing to the top 40 or 50 people at IBM would
be good. Some of our ideas could influence their views and actions,
even SJL's as noted below.

I have always been
. . . at IBM for their lack of marketing strategy for this platform, which I
originally attributed to their focus on mainframe sales in those days, and their fear that
AS/400 would cannibalize that market.
Today I just don't understand their lack of focus on this platform.
I personally believe that over the last 30 years that the IBM midrangesystems
(particularly the System/38, AS/400, iSeries, and System i) representthe best business
computing platform that has ever existed, bar none, but those in powerat IBM headquarters
still treats it like a step-child.
IMO, IBM should spin off the midrange division as a separate company, and let it realize
its full potential. It has been held back by those in power at IBMcorporate.
